GENIO Silent System — a mute system for grands, with an electrically driven mute rail.
The rail slides in between hammers and strings before the hammer arrives: keys and action stay exactly as they were, only the sound no longer happens in the instrument. Contactless optical sensors read every key, and how hard it was struck. The pedals are read as well, sostenuto included on a grand.
You listen through two headphone sockets. On board are 17 sounds, reverb and a metronome; recording runs on four tracks, and both USB and MIDI lead to a computer.
