A towering concert upright from around 1930. The Hofmann Model III is a tall 130 cm instrument, and that height translates into long strings, a generous soundboard and a powerful, full-bodied tone. Pre-owned and beautifully kept, it wears a warm oak veneer under a soft satin finish that lets the natural grain show. The full 88-key keyboard is served by three pedals, including a practice-friendly middle option, making it as suited to the dedicated home pianist as to the teaching room. With its commanding stature and rich, resonant voice, this is an upright with real character and the projection of a far larger instrument.
