GEWA PP-3 — a portable digital piano in black with 88 weighted keys.

It is meant for a home with little room to spare, for teaching that travels to the pupil, and for the stage: 14.8 kg is a one-person carry, and there is nothing to tune. The Smart Touch keyboard works with a weighted hammer action, so the touch you build on it carries over to an acoustic instrument.

The piano sound comes from a high-resolution Steinway D-274 sample of more than 1 GB; with it come 15 voices, 256-note polyphony and two independent effect blocks with 4 reverbs and 8 modulation effects. The virtual piano technician sets string and pedal resonance, hammer, half-pedal and tuning, and the calibration tool adjusts how the keyboard behaves. Four favourite buttons sit on the control panel; everything else runs through the GEWA Piano Remote App for Android and iOS.

Connections: USB to Host, a 3.5 mm aux input, line out, two 6.3 mm pedal sockets and a 6.3 mm headphone output; Bluetooth carries audio and MIDI. Practise late in the evening with headphones on, and it stays quiet on the other side of the wall.
