Blüthner is one of the great names of German piano building, and the firm's uprights are known for how carefully they are made. 121 cm is the upper limit of the home format: the bass gets longer strings than on the compact models and carries that much fuller.
Right for a living room where the instrument counts as furniture too, and for anyone looking for a piano in wood rather than in black. Two pedals: the right holds the note, the left makes it quieter. There is no practice rail for playing softly; if you need one, a Silent System can be fitted and you play with headphones on the same keys.
The satin wood surface is a forgiving one: fingerprints hardly show, and a dry cloth is enough. The piano is 153 cm wide and 62.5 cm deep, it stands against the wall, and with somewhere to sit it takes about 1 m². At 245 kg, only movers get it up the stairs. Not by the radiator, not in the sun: wood and tuning both suffer from swings in humidity.
