Wittner Taktell Piccolo — a mechanical metronome with a wind-up movement in a black plastic case, without a bell.
Wind it, slide the weight along the pendulum to the tempo, let go: the beat is audible and the pendulum visible, which helps a beginner keep count. It needs no batteries. The range runs from 40 to 208 beats per minute. With no bell there is no accented first beat of the bar — anyone who counts the bar themselves manages without. At 16 cm tall and around 200 g it stands on any music desk.
